The Daring Daisy will serve as the Virginia Commonwealth Games Mountain Bike Championship for 2022. The race will traverse the scenic trails on the campus of Sweet Briar College, located outside the town of Amherst, VA. The 7.3- mile loop course will consist of 75% single-track and 25% double-track ranging, from twisty techy to wide open and fast, while gaining 604' of elevation per loop. Riders will choose between four categories (Beginner, Sport, Expert, Single-speed) with Expert and Single-speed winners eligible for cash prizes. All riders who complete the course will receive a Commonwealth Games Medal.

The Course will consist of approximately 75% techy and twisty single-track with the remaining 25% being fast double-track. Expert and Single-speed classes will complete 3-loops of the course, with the Sport category completing 2-loops, and the Beginner category completing 1-loop of the course. The racecourse will be well marked with flagging, signage, and strategically placed course marshall to assure the racers can focus on racing.

The ride starts and ends on the campus of Sweet Briar College. We encourage everyone to consider booking a stay with The Florence Elston Inn located right on campus. Camping
If you are looking for camping check out the Lynchburg/ Blue Ridge Parkway KOA. They have both tent and RV sites, along with a number of cabins available. Additional camping is available on the Parkway at Otter Creek Campground.
